Born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, Mike Mancino is a proud graduate of Seaford High School with a lifelong entrepreneurial spirit. At just 16, he launched his first holiday business, setting the foundation for a career marked by innovation, leadership, and global experience.
Before settling in Lackawaxen Township 18 years ago, Mike owned and managed an international supply chain business specializing in board-level micro-circuitry for the Defense and Industrial sectors. His work took him across Eastern and Western Europe, and also involved building long-standing partnerships in Asia. These global experiences shaped his ability to collaborate across cultures, listen carefully, and build lasting trust, skills that now serve him well in public service.
Since moving to Lackawaxen, Mike has brought that same energy and vision to the local community. He founded Vanderbeek Farm and Equestrian Center and has remained deeply committed to building businesses that not only thrive, but also contribute meaningfully to the people and places around them.
At his core, Mike believes in the goodness of people. Whether in business or local government, he approaches every decision with integrity, consensus, building, and a focus on doing what’s best for the community he proudly serves.
Family, Farm, and the American Dream
Mike is the proud father of five children, ranging in age from 15 to 23, with two currently attending schools in the Wallenpaupack Area School District. Fatherhood has always been his greatest joy and continues to be the most rewarding part of his life. He takes pride in being present—whether it’s cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, celebrating academic milestones, or simply sharing life lessons. One message he always tries to pass along is that creating positive change starts right at home—in your local community.
Mike is an avid Horseman and animal lover. He dedicates his time to the care and welfare of horses, livestock and family pets. His love of Horses can be seen as you drive past his family farm. You may have also seen his pot belly pigs grazing or his two dogs playfully wrestling on the farm’s front lawn.
As the Grandson of Italian Immigrants that came to America through Ellis Island in the early 1900’s from Sicily, Mike was raised to continue to chase the American Dream. His patriotism shines through with the Landmark American Flag on his barn or his annual Field of Honor display.
